Five Nights / Six Days Luxury Photographic Safari
Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa
Overview
Sabi Sand is one of the original private game reserves adjacent to the world famous Kruger National Park and both form part of what is now called the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Park, which stretches into Southern Zimbabwe and Western Mozambique.
The Sabi Sand and Kruger National Park share a river called the Sand River, and is extremely game rich. Breeding herds of elephant and buffalo roam throughout Sabi Sand, while white rhino and lion concentrations are among the highest recorded on the African continent. Yet it’s the leopards of Sabi Sand that make it world famous for wildlife. Intimate leopard sightings are frequent.
What To Expect
The Sabi Sand is famous for its big game, especially the Big Five. While the Animals are still wild in the Sabi Sand, they have been brought up around vehicles and are therefore "habituated" to the vehicles. This allows the guides to get up close to the animals, providing for superb photographic opportunities.
The lodges in the Sabi Sand specialise in photographic safaris. Usually this means you will get exclusive use of the game vehicle and expert guidance from a "photographic host" who is with you in the vehicle for advice on camera settings and positioning. After the game drive, you will have the opportunity for post-processing tutorials from your photographic tutor.
